Peacock cottage offers a charming island retreat for getting away from it all and a convenient base for exploring the beautiful Isle of Arran.
This cosy cottage is ideally placed in the coastal village of Whiting Bay within walking distance of the village stores, cafes and bistros. This traditional cottage has been tastefully furnished and newly decorated to provide comfortable accommodation for 2 guests located in the coastal village of Whiting Bay. On the ground floor the bedroom has a king-size bed with superior bedding to ensure a comfortable sleep. The bed can also be converted into a twin, on request at the time of booking.
On the upper floor there is an open plan living room and kitchen area with sea views towards Holy Isle.
Peacock Cottage has access to the communal gardens shared with the adjoining property and there is a separate garden area with table and chairs overlooking the bay with side gated access to the footpath below and the sandy beach opposite.

Ground floor bathroom with corner bath and a hand-held shower attachment. (NB: There is no separate shower cubicle)
Open plan with living room. Fully equipped with electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge with icebox and a microwave oven. All crockery, cooking utensils, pots and pans, small appliances, baking equipment, cutlery and glassware are provided.
There is also a separate Laundry room attached to the cottage with washing machine, tumble drier and ironing facilities (also useful for storing golf clubs, outdoor gear, etc)
Open plan with kitchen and dining area. There is a large flatscreen TV & DVD player, digital radio with ipod / iphone dock. A selection of books, maps and visitor information leaflets are provided.
Bed linen and towels are provided (please bring own beach / swimming towels). Tea towels, oven gloves and cleaning cloths are provided.
Utilities / Essentials
All electricity and oil-fired central heating are included. Peacock Cottage has high speed fibre optics broadband. Please be aware that the mobile phone reception is variable with all service providers.
A starter supply of household cleaning essentials is included, i.e. washing powder, dishwasher tablets, cleaning products and toilet tissue.
There are shared communal gardens and a separate garden area for Peacock guests with a table and chairs overlooking the bay.
There is a parking space outside the cottage.
The cottage is ideal for two adults to share, but unfortunately it is not suitable for children due to the size and layout of the rooms.
For the comfort of all our guests, pets are not permitted in this property or in the grounds.
Smoking is not permitted in this property.
This cottage is not suitable for wheelchair users or people with limited mobility.
There is a separate adjoining Laundry room which is also a useful place to store walking gear / golf clubs, etc.

There is direct access to a sandy beach, perfect for beachcombing and exploring rock pools exposed at low tide. Nearby you will discover the spectacular Glenashdale Falls and numerous forestry and coastal trails.
The village of Whiting Bay has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and is self-contained with a useful range of small independent stores and services for easy living. Felicity’s at Bar Eden is a popular vibrant spot for morning coffee and also offers a lunch and dinner menu.
The Village Hall plays host to an eclectic range of local bands, visiting musicians and ceilidhs. For art lovers, the Arran Art Gallery (next to The Grange) displays a wonderful selection of local and Scottish artwork.

The standard changeover day is a Saturday, but this is flexible in the quieter months. Arrival time from 4pm. Departure time by 10am.
Minimum of 3 nights outside of peak holiday periods, subject to availability.
